Frequently Asked Questions

What do you mean by open source innovation

According to our definition, open source innovation describes a collaborative development process involving several contributing actors. Actors involved in invention provide open access to their results for anyone wishing to exploit them, allowing utilisation, modification, and re-distribution.

Strictly speaking this would restrict our directory to projects developing one common product. However, also user innovation networks and community projects, where members exchange ideas leading to similar products but with different characteristics, are highly welcome.

The according project type shall be specified on the project detail pages.
